With emphasis on product formulations and chemical substances this course introduces the requirements for eco-labelling of detergents. Examples of the criteria for all-purpose cleaners, hand dishwashing detergents, laundry detergents, machine dishwashing detergents, and sanitary cleaners will be presented.

- Overview of EU Flower and Nordic Swan eco-label criteria
- Introduction to recently adopted new EU Flower criteria
- How can the Detergent Ingredients Database list (DID list) be used and what are the options for a substance not included in the DID list?
- Requirements to specific substances such as surfactants, biocides and fragrances
Target group
Manufacturers of detergents who are considering applying for either the EU Flower or Nordic Swan eco-label or who want to achieve basic knowledge on eco-labelling with the purpose of defining a standard for formulation of detergents.
After the course
you will be able to understand the requirements defined by the criteria for eco-labelling of detergents and initiate the preparation of an application for the EU Flower or Nordic Swan eco-label.
