You will be introduced to the basic principles of ecotoxicological laboratory tests. We will use examples from studies of acute and chronic aquatic toxicity, bioaccumulation and biodegradation according to OECD guidelines. Furthermore, we will discuss the limitations of the test methods and the regulatory use of ecotoxicological data.

Target group
You want basic knowledge on ecotoxicology and information on how ecotoxicological data are applied in the regulation of chemicals.

After the course
you will be able to assess the appropriateness of ecotoxicological data and to conduct an initial environmental hazard assessment of chemical substances.

The course combines lectures with presentations of ecotoxicological tests at DHI’s environmental laboratory.
